From the golden age of musicals to the West End, Singin’ In The Rain brings the glamour of the MGM film to the Palace theatre. Set at a time of change in the film world, Singin’ In The Rain follows silent movie star Dan Lockwood who has everything he could ever want; fame, adulation and even a well-publicised romance with his co-star Lina Lamont. But there are rumours doing the rounds of a new kind of film that could alter everything, a kind of film where actors talk… and sing… and dance. Singin’ In The Rain transfers to the Palace theatre from the Chichester Festival Theatre, where it enjoyed critical acclaim and a sell-out run in 2011. Adam Cooper, who leads the cast of Singin’ In The Rain as Lockwood, is a former ballet dancer whose credits include a number of productions for the Royal Ballet and creating the role of the Swan in Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake. His previous musical theatre credits include The Wizard Of Oz, Zorro and Guys And Dolls. His Singin’ In The Rain co-star Scarlett Strallen is a West End regular with credits including Passion, Mary Poppins, The Witches Of Eastwick and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Katherine Kingsley has previously been seen in London productions of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Aspects Of Love, Piaf and High Society, while Michael Brandon – who previously took the title role in Jerry Springer – The Musical – is best known for playing Dempsey in TV cop drama Dempsey and Makepeace. This production of Singin’ In The Rain is staged by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures Inc.
