The smash-hit Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête) musical has been performed to over 35 million people in 21 different countries since it first hit the Broadway stage nearly twenty years ago, and now it is coming to the City of Lights. However, many musicals imported from Broadway and London’s West End struggle in France, where audiences tend to prefer French shows. With this in mind, American director Glenn Casale has adapted the Broadway show for a French audience by drawing inspiration from the 1700s French novel and the 1946 Jean Cocteau film. The musical opens at the Mogador Theatre in Paris On October 24.
