The best in food journalism, writing, broadcast and TV was honored at an event known as the Oscars of the US food world, with Heston Blumenthal emerging the big winner of the night. “Historic Heston,” a culinary history book of British gastronomy took the award for Cookbook of the Year at the James Beard Foundation Awards, for reviving medieval and Victorian recipes from obscurity. Other big winners included celebrity TV personalities Ina Garten and Martha Stewart.
