Coinciding with the World Book day, observed on 23rd April every year, the A’Sharqiyah University had organised various programmes on 26th April to promote reading habits and appreciation of books among the younger generation.
The university’s library department held several cultural activities as part of the event, along with quiz programmes and other contests for the students to prove their mettle. A number of well-known bookshops in the Sultanate were hosted at the event, highlighting the key role played by them in disseminating knowledge among the people.
The university library also organised a fair for used books to raise funds for the university’s charity projects.
The winners and participants were honoured at the end of the event.
