Located about 40 km off the emirate of Sharjah towards Maleiha Road, a unique Desert Park opened to the employees of Sharjah Police and their families.
The park, spread over 800 sqm in Al Kaheef area of Al Bataah, is the first-of-its-kind initiative in the UAE and is aimed to strengthen the bonds among police employees and their families, that will in turn lead to greater motivation and a positive work environment
The Desert Park was opened on Sunday evening in a ceremony attended by police employees and their families.
The Desert Park was implemented within the framework of initiatives and projects of Sharjah Police intended to enhance the happiness of employees and their families
Entertainment zones
The park also includes entertainment zones, play area for children, bikes, a mini zoo where kids get to pet and feed sheep, goats and camels.
There are pitches for football and volleyball and the park grounds also include a cafe, restaurants and picnic facilities.
The Desert Park has a Majlis for men and women and a musalla (praying zone). The park will be open throughout the year.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of senior police officers including Brigadier Saif Ziri Al Shamsi, commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police, Brigadier Khalifa Al Merri, director of Sharjah Punitive Establishments Department, Brigadier Arif Al Sherif, Deputy of Sharjah Police Central Operations, Brigadier Dr. Mohammad Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of Police Academy, Colonel Ali Saif Al Nades, Director of the Community Police Department.
Brigadier Al Shamsi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of people who supervised the implementation of the project. He stressed on the support of the leadership for all initiatives and proposals that benefit the employees and help create a positive environment for them
