Several Algerian artists have been rewarded at the 8th Agadir Amazigh Film Festival Issni n’Ourgh (Finifa) which took place from 18 to 21 November in Agadir (South of Morocco), the organizers said.
The festival rewards Algerian filmmaker Tahar Houchi, commissioner of the Oriental Film Festival in Geneva (FIFOG), grating him the "Special Jury Prize" for his film "Koceila" in short films category.
In the category "competitions videos", the festival granted two awards to the film Isseflan (Sacrifices) by Ahmed Mebani, produced by the Broadcasting Agency Gofilm of Tizi Ouzou.
The film snatched the "Award of the Best film" and the "Award for Best Actress" attributed to Lamia Mahiout together with Moroccan Nadia Saaidi for the film "Stop" by Mohamed Bouzagou and Khalid Maadour.
In the same category, the festival presented the "Award for Best Actor" to Arezki Oulhadj for his role in "The spider" of Idir Saudi.
In addition, the festival paid tribute to late Algerian director Abderrahmane Bouguermouh in the presence of his widow, his son Zahir and actress Djamila Amzal, heroine of his film "The forgotten hill", screened on the occasion.
Some 60 films in the categories: long films, short films, documentaries and video films were screened during this year's edition, under the central theme of human rights.
