The kickoff of the 7th International Festival of miniature and manuscript illumination was given late Monday afternoon at the Palace of Culture "Abdelkrim Dali" in Tlemcen, in the presence of Ambassador of the Republic of China to Algeria, the authorities of the province and a large number of artists.
The 7th edition of this artistic event, which has become traditional, witnesses the participation of nearly fifty international artists from over 30 countries, including four countries which are partaking for the first time in the festival (China, Mexico, the Philippines and Bangladesh), in addition to thirty Algerian artists.
In addition to the exhibition to be held at the Palace of Culture, the festival program includes a series of lectures related specifically to the history of Muslem art, as well as workshops hosted by experienced artists from several countries including Iran and Turkey, to allow better learning of different techniques for the benefit of young students of Fine Arts.
Another workshop for pupils will also be on the agenda of the festival to wrap up on October 20.
