The 9th Korean Film Festival opened on Monday in Amman in a bid to cement cultural ties and cooperation between Jordan and the eastern Asian nation.
South Korean Ambassador in Amman, Choi Hong-ghi, and members of the diplomatic missions in the Kingdom and others attended the opening ceremony of the event which runs through Friday.
In a statement to Petra, the ambassador hailed South Korean-Jordanian ties and said he is working to advance relations between the two countries in various domains.
Speaking on the festival, the envoy said the event comes as part of the South Korean cultural week which will include speech contests between students studying Korean language at the University of Jordan.
The week will also feature traditional Jordanian and Korean costumes shows. Choi noted that embassy is planning further future events to enhance bilateral cultural relations.
