Mexican and Spanish guitarists gave Wednesday evening in Algiers a concert as part of the 6th International Symphonic Music Festival.
Playing solo or in orchestra, guitarists Raul Zambrano (Mexico) and Juan Carlo Lopez Serula (Spain) presented to the audience of Mahieddine Bachtarzi National Theatre (TNA) excerpts derived from their countries’ musical repertoires, composed in the beginning of the 20th century.
The Mexican guitarist performed the particular compositions of Manuel Ponce (1882-1946), considered as “the father of the contemporary Mexican music.”
For his part, guitarist Juan Carlo Lopez Serula along with the Spanish orchestra "Casa Mediterraneo" captivated the audience.
