After thirteen successful years, the International Festival of Urban Dance will to return for another in early September. The festivities will run from September 4 to 17, 2017, under the theme “My talent, my citizenship.”
In partnership with the Meknes commune, the French Institute, and the US Embassy, the festival’s various dance events will be hosted in various locations across the city of Meknes.
The festival has been spearheaded by Espoir Jeunesse Maroc, an organization that discovers, develops, and promotes young and talented Moroccan dancers. There will be a number of performances and competitions, with styles ranging from breakdance to hip-hop. Participants will also have the unique opportunity to network with prominent figures in the urban dance community.
There are very few chances for urban dance styles to transcend the local stage, and this event is one of those rare occasions for Moroccan dancers and fans.
