The Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah has held its first meeting to discuss preparation plans for the UAE’s 45th National Day.
Addressing the formation of sub-committees and other subsidiary bodies, as well as the election of the heads to these bodies, the formal discussions form part of the committee’s efforts to ensure that Sharjah’s celebrations for such an important national occasion fully conform with the significance of the event.
Held at Al Majaz Theatre in the presence of government department representatives, the meeting was headed by Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, SCTDA, and Chairman of the Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah.
"We were delighted to hold the first meeting of the Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah to celebrate the UAE’s 45th National Day. Before holding the meeting, we prepared this year’s primary plan for the celebrations, which included all its activities and programmes. Today, we approved the plan, the Sub-committees and the heads for what is one of the nation’s most important events," said Khalid Jasim Al Midfa.
During the meeting, the parties approved the organising of aviation shows, which will take place for the first time in Sharjah. The details of the air shows will be announced at a later date. The discussions included highlighting the importance of communication between the Higher Committee and the Sub-committees to achieve the very best results.
Following the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the support of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah will preside over an array of activities taking place in different cities in Sharjah in celebration of UAE National Day 2016.
