The UAE turns 45… Across the country, social media users are quick to exchange greetings on the anniversary of the union using the hashtags #UAENationalDay and more. For most expatriates, it is a time to reflect on their UAE experience and how the country has become their second home. Others have expressed praise for the UAE’s leaders and vision.
Instagrammers send their greetings to the UAE in all sorts of ways—from dressing in traditional clothes, balloons, and even showing off objects, from cake to nails, decked in UAE colours.
@jsemtomas: “Here in Dubai there is nothing like “normal” considering all the different corners we all come from. Today we celebrated the National Day and I proudly joined celerbrations in traditional attire called kandura and along with my friend in an abaya. And needless to say we rocked. Nevertheless, keeping eyes wide open and being willing to expand your horizons – these two aspects seem to be helping me a lot. #UAENationalDay #helloUAE”
