The Kingdom of Bahrain will mark the International Youth Day, which falls every year on August 12.
The 2017 edition of the United National (UN) annual event is being celebrated this year under the theme “Youth Building Peace”.
A ceremony will be organised on Monday at 6.30 PM at Ibn Khaldoun Social Centre in the area of Arad.
Bahrain Society for Voluntary Work is organising the event in cooperation with the Arab-African Youth Council.
Two Saudis associations dedicated to social and voluntary work will attend the celebration, which will be held under the auspices of Bahrain Charity Society Secretary-General Dr. Hassan Ibrahim Kamal.
Bahrain Society for Voluntary Work chairman Abdulaziz Rashid Al-Sindi said that preparations had been completed for the ceremony during which the Afrabia Youth Award will be launched –in the presence of the Arab-African Youth Council Secretary-General Dr. Awadh Hassan Ibrahim.
“The programme will also include folklore shows, entertainment events and contests with prizes for the winners”, said Al-Sindi in a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for empowering Bahraini youth to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
