Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) honoured 371 outstanding school and university students under the AMAF’s care.
The students were honoured because they scored more than 85 per cent in their examinations at a ceremony held at Armani Hotel in Dubai in presence of Dr. Thani Ahmad Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, and Ahmad Abdul Karim Mohammad Julfar, Director, Dubai Community Development Authority.
Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, said students are the future of the country.
“Our wise leadership has repeatedly emphasised that education is a vital pillar of development. The founding father of the UAE, late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, established schools and universities so that citizens of this country could obtain the necessary knowledge to contribute to its success” Al Rais said.
He stressed that Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has also reiterated the importance of developing our human capital, and said that building nations is not complete without building their citizens.
“As part of our mandate to empower the children under our care until they graduate from university, AMAF spares no effort in providing a stimulating environment and all the necessary tools to enable them to make the most of their education. We provided computers and stationary as well as following up with their schools,” he added.
In line with the UAE’s Year of Giving, the ceremony reflected AMAF’s firm commitment to charity and philanthropy. Through rewarding academic achievements, the foundation expressed its appreciation for the vital role schools play in the country’s progress and in educating generations that realise the importance of giving for achieving global stability and security
