Between 15 and 23 August, Alexandria will host 7th Arabic Music Festival at the Sayed Darwish Theatre (Alexandria Opera House). Organised by the Cairo Opera House, the festival will include well-known singers, mostly Egyptian: Hany Shaker, Ali El-Haggar, Medhat Saleh, Mohamed El-Helw, Iman Bahr El-Darwish, Souma, Mohsen Farouk, Ahmed Ibrahim, Marwa Nagui, Reham Abdel Hakim, Amira Ahmed, May Farouk, Rehab Metawea, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Imen Abdel-Ghani, Abgad Al-Atafi, Ahmed Effat, Walid Heidar etc. The festival will also include performances by composer and pianist Omar Khairat, pianist Amr Selim, and kanoun player Maged Sourour. Musicians will be accompanied by Abdel Halim Nowera Ensemble for Arab Music conducted by Salah Ghobashy; The National Arab Music Ensemble conducted by Selim Sehab; and Heritage Ensemble for Arab Music conducted by Farouq El Bably and Alexandria Troupe for Music and Singing conducted by Abdel-Hamid Abdel-Ghaffar. On 15 August, the 7th Arabic Music Festival's opening ceremony will be attended by chairwoman of the Cairo Opera House, Ines Abdel-Dayem and several Egyptian musicians will be honoured for their valuable contributions to the country's artistic life.
