The Arab Orchestra of Barcelona (OAB) gave a concert in the evening on Saturday in Algiers, in Ibn Khaldoun Theatre, in an atmosphere marked by mixture of genres and cultures, that built bridges between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
Singing the Earth, love, peace and tolerance in fifteen songs, most of them were drawn from the "Libertad" (Freedom), the OAB’s last album, the eight soloists (four Moroccans and four Spaniardsl) have used Latin-Andalusian modes taking the numerous public to a guided tour in the heart of the Orient, the Maghreb and Andalusia.
Provoking thought and meditation, "Ayoub", a highly-tense musical introduction helped to appreciate, since the beginning, the quality of composition and technical level of musicians who have created spaces for expression marked with the melancholy and the wandering of the psychedelic genre.
In "Ilahi El Qodsou Fi Qafani" the concerns about the eternal problem of occupied Palestine, "scene of repeated attacks by the Israeli army" were contained in a pronounced lyrical impulse.
"Our mission is to convey a message of love, peace and tolerance in the world" said Mohamed Soulimane, violinist, conductor and founder of the OAB, adding, "We have a universal prayer which has no color, much less a religion."
