The new Audi A7 Dubai - Arabstoday Building on the success of collecting five auto awards in 2010, Audi has once again received great feedback for its models from the Middle East region’s most popular automotive awards. For 2011 the brand with the four rings was now awarded seven awards by several of the leading regional motoring publications as well as the Middle East Motor Awards. With two awards each, the new Audi A7, A6 and A1, which were all newly launched in 2011, received the most accolades. The A7 was awarded “Best Premium Saloon” by Wheels magazine and also proved popular with the magazine’s readers. Readers picked their overall car of the year from all 16 category winners of the Wheels Awards and awarded the Audi A7 the title of “Readers’ Choice Award” via online voting. The Audi A1 received the titles of “Small Car of the Year” by Evo Middle East as well as “Hot Hatch of the Year” by the Omani motoring magazine Automan. A further two awards were received for the new Audi A6 from Automobile magazine (“Best Medium Executive Sedan”) and the Middle East Motor Awards (“Best Executive Sedan”). The Audi R8 GT Spyder claimed an additional victory as “Best Premium Sports Convertible” at the Middle East Motor Awards. Jeff Mannering, Managing Director, Audi Middle East said; “Our success in the region continues from previous years in to 2012 as we receive overwhelming support from the motoring media and Audi fans. Our aim for 2012 is to keep the momentum going with more fantastic new products, such as the new Audi Q3, the new S models and a few others.” Meanwhile Audi also enjoyed success in its home market in Germany. The readers of the automotive magazine “auto motor und sport” (ams) cast their votes for the “Best Cars of 2012.” Overall victory in the small car category went to the Audi A1, while the Audi A4/A5 claimed overall victory among midsize vehicles.
