No, it's not a Bentley or a Rolls-Royce or even an AMG-tuned Mercedes. It's the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
Thanks to a supercharged, 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine under its air-scooped hood, this rather angry-looking family car has 707hp on tap, making it the most powerful production sedan in history. Never mind a Bentley or a BMW M5, this car's vital performance statistics are enough to embarrass even a Ferrari 458 Italia.
The Hellcat can cover the standing quarter mile in 11.0 seconds and can hit a top speed of 204mph. Or it can be used to go shopping, to collect the kids from school or on the daily drive to the office.
Luckily as well as having the most powerful engine ever fitted to a Chrysler sedan, it also has the biggest brakes in the brand's history, so that the driver can retain control at the limit.
And in addition to its sledgehammer of an engine, great brakes and a significantly upgraded suspension and damping system, the new Dodge also has a reworked, higher quality interior complete with a touch screen display.
But the truth is that the sort of person who is going to buy this car will rarely if ever be glancing around its cockpit: his or her eyes will be fixed permanently on the road ahead or at the rev counter to time the next gear change to perfection.
