Infiniti has launched the 2017 model of the QX60 in the Middle East featuring additional enhancements for a premium driving experience. The first in a host of upgrades is on the QX60’s powerplant. The intelligent all-wheel-drive vehicle with a powerful and efficient 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine now delivers 295hp (+30hp) at 6,400 rpm with a torque output of 350NM (+24) at 4,800rpm. The 2017 Infiniti QX60 also comes equipped with the Motion Activated Liftgate. This unique technology allows users to simply swipe their foot in a “kicking motion” under the rear bumper, which causes the liftgate to open automatically — allowing for a true hands-free operation.
• Nissan has appointed Peyman Kargar as senior vice president and chairman of its Africa, Middle East and India region. In this role, he will lead the regional management committee and will be responsible for business strategy and performance for both the Nissan and Datsun brands with all functional heads reporting to him. Kargar, 49, was earlier working with Renault as vice president sales and marketing, Africa, the Middle East and India. Kargar effectively established the new region for Renault and gained extensive market knowledge by working in over 50 countries.
• British automotive brand, MG, has announced the opening of its new Middle East training academy, the latest stage of the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the region. The new facility cements the brand’s commitment to offering the highest standards of service to its customers across the Middle East. The opening of the training academy in Dubai, UAE, also underscores MG’s focus on delivering improved skills for the long-term and ensuring training meets the needs of the business. Available to staff from across its Middle East network, including Saudi Arabia, the training provided through the MG Training Academy will meet quality levels defined by a recognized and standardized accreditation process.
• The 2017 Cadillac ATS Turbo Sedan is now on sale across the Middle East. The most powerful model in its class comes with performance enhancements, luxury trims and a host of new technologies. The exterior of the sedan or coupe, have all the hallmarks that distinguish Cadillac from its competition. Under the bonnet of the Sedan is the powerful turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the compact luxury class. It is SAE-certified at 272hp (203 kW) and 400 Nm of torque.
