Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said on Friday that consecutive fall of dictators in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen is among blessings of Islamic awakening. Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon here at Tehran University campus, Ayatollah Khatami said among other blessings of the Islamic awakening movements is the anti-arrogance spirit getting stronger in the region and the world. He said the US, which was once seeking new Middle East in the region, has now become so desperate that in certain regional states, that are ruled by the US agents, people kick on the US flags and chant “down with the US.” Ayatollah Khatami said Egyptian Muslims’ capture of the embassy of the “forged and usurper” Zionist regime and humiliating fleeing of the Zionist regime’s Ambassador andn 71 of his colleagues from Jordan overnight are among other blessings of the Islamic awakening. Those chanting Nile to Euphrates did not at all imagine such days, said the Ayatollah, adding, “These all were the same criminals in Sabra and Shatila, killing 5,000 innocent people in Palestine.” He said the “compromising” governments, in whose country the Zionist regime’s embassies are based, should be dealt a blow. He noted that among other blessings of the Islamic awakening is revolutionaries’ official announcement that Islam is the axis of their movement. He added that official announcement of revolutionaries, that they favor religious democracy, has strongly terrified the US and the global arrogance because they fear Islam and rule of religion. He hoped that the Islamic awakening will continue, especially in the region, until complete falling of dictators.
