The Iranian Navy wrapped up its 10-day massive drills in the international waters of the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean with naval parades on Tuesday. The wargames, dubbed as Velayat 90, were held in an area stretching from the East of the Strait of Hormoz in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden. All naval forces and vessels that were part of the drills participated in the military parades held in the Sea of Oman. The Iranian navy also displayed different types of destroyers, missile-launching frigates, hovercrafts, submarines, choppers and aircrafts in the parades. Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, Commander of Iranian Army Major General Ataollah Salehi and a number of Iranian commanders participated in the event. Observers said that Navy's wargames in the Sea of Oman and the Persian Gulf proved that Iran is powerful enough to exercise full control over the strategic Strait of Hormoz.
