Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi warned Washington to stay away from a war with Iran, saying that if it comes under attack, Iran will teach the US how to fight. Addressing a congregation of 50,000 Basij (volunteer) forces in the Southern city of Bushehr on Sunday, Vahidi said the US invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan were not encountered by any solid defense. "But the US and its allies should know that Iran is so powerful that its battling will teach the US how to fight and what war and warrior mean," Vahidi cautioned. "The enemy should answer this question that in case of an attack on Iran, for how long are they prepared to see the drowning of their warships and ships," he asked. "Why is the Zionist regime making threats (against Iran), for how many missiles have they prepared themselves, for 10 thousand, 20 thousand, 50 thousand, 100 thousand, 150 thousand or more," the Iranian defense minister said. Israeli officials have recently intensified their war rhetoric against Iran, saying a raid on Iran's nuclear sites is in the offing. In response, Iranian officials have warned that in case Zionist attack Iran, nothing will be left of Israel and its worldwide interests. On Friday Senior Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi warned Israel that should it attack Iran's nuclear sites, Tehran and its regional allies, including Hezbollah and Hamas, will crush its cities with rocket and missile attacks. Safavi, who formerly led the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), told Iran's Arabic-language satellite channel Al-Alam "in case of an attack by Israel, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza will also join the fighting". "There will be no need for Iran to launch ballistic missiles at Israel, because all the Zionist cities are within the range of our ally Hezbollah's Katyusha (rockets)," he continued. Iranian officials and commanders have warned that any enemy moves, even the slightest aggressions, against the Islamic Republic would be reciprocated with a destructive response and will endanger the US interests all around the world.
