Two matinee concerts with programing tailored for schools will take place on Sunday 29 and Monday 30 March.
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra will play mostly a collection of polkas and waltzes by Johann Strauss II.
The works incude: Fledermaus Overture (Overture to The Bat), Annen Polka, Op. 117 (Anna’s Polka), Leichtes Blut, Polka-schnell, Op. 319 (Light Blood, quick-polka), Vergnugunzug, Polka-schnell, Op. 281 (Pleasure Train quick-polka), Unter Donner und Blitz, Polka-schnell, Op 324 (Thunder and Lighting, quick-polka), Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald Waltzer, Op. 325 (Tales from the Vienna Wood, waltz), Tritsch-Teasch-Polka, Op. 214, Accelerationen Waltzer, Op. 234 (Accelerations waltz), Perpetuum mobile, Op. 257, Kaiser Walzer, Op. 437 (Emperor Waltz)
