The Shaikh Ibrahim for Culture and Research has today inaugurated the Beit Al-Nukhda (Pearling Boat Captain)in Muharraq. Sponsored by the Fahd bin Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Ghusaiby, iconic venue becomes the first "beit" to be opened as part of the Pearl Route. Members of the diplomatic corps, ministers, heritage savvy, architects and journalists attended the inaugural ceremony> Chaired by Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, the Muharraq-based centre revamped the iconic "bait", as part of effort to promote national heritage for the posterity.
