Ramallah’s Mahmoud Darwish Museum has announced the launch of a new exhibition commemorating the Palestinian poet, hosting some of the most prominent Palestinian and Arab writers. Museum of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish announced the launch of the project "innovative in the presence of Darwish" which will host the most prominent Palestinians and Arab writers. The exhibition, which will continue throughout the year, aims to host talks from Arab writers and intellectuals to meet with the Palestinian public to preview their literary experiences. The programme kicks off on January 31 with Palestinian writer and thinker, Faisal Hourani. Director Sameh Khader said the museum hoped to “reconnect Arab intellectuals with the Palestinian cause,” while giving members of the public an insight into artists’ experience. Khader added: "The museum also intends to organise a lecture for visiting writers at a Palestinian university so that it can give an opportunity to each thinker to visit a Palestinian university and give a lecture at the Faculty of Arts.” Khadr announced that invitations had already been sent out to a number of Arab writers including Ezzedine Choukri Vashir from Egypt and Ali Mokri from Yemen.
