The 'Oman in Gubbio - Connecting Cultures through Ceramic Art' exhibition will be held in the Arengo Hall in Palazzo Consoli and in Piazza Grande just next to the exhibition building. ''It is an extraordinary artistic event, and at the same time an exhibition and experiment'' commented the curator of the show, Ettore Sannipoli. I don't exclude that the protagonists might be able to develop new techniques or languages, sharing their experiences of art and creativity imagined not only as a meeting but potentially as a synthesis between two great cultures of ceramic, the Italian one and the Omani one. From June 23 for three days the public will be able to enter directly into contact with the protagonists under a great Omani tent mounted for the occasion in Piazza Grande. The Italian artists are all Umbrian: three from Gubbio, two from Gualdo Tadino, one from Deruta and one from Orvieto. The event has been promoted by the Gubbio Council with the patronage of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in collaboration with the local business associations and Lubna Zawawi, Chairman and founder of the Wolf Group of Companies. The whole city of Gubbio will be involved: Oman will be the focus on lessons in school and fusion menus proposed by some restaurants in addition to Omani style coffee sets put on sale for the occasion in shops in the historical centre.
