The Ministry of Antiquity will organize a workshop on the role of UN Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) in protecting cultural property and combating illegal trafficking of cultural pieces.
The workshop will be held at the National Museum of Civilization at Cairo's old district of Fustat. It aimed at clarifying the measures and steps needed to put into effect UNESCO agreements clinched on 1970 and 1954 to protect cultural heritage and property.
The three-day workshop aims at training youth archaeologists and museum secretaries, security experts and customs officials on means of protecting the cultural property.
Participants in the workshop will enjoy a tour in the Grand Egypt Museum, which is still under construction, on the final day of the workshop.
