Anadolu Agency's (AA) "Military Hearth-World of Turkish soldiers" photo exhibition will open doors to visitors in the north-western province of Canakkale on March 18. The photo exhibition will be inaugurated by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chief of Turkish General Staff General Necdet Ozel. 160 photographs showing different aspects of Turkish troops will be on display at the exhibition. March 18 is celebrated as the Day of Martyrs in Turkey. Heroic saga of Turkish soldiers will come up to surface by the Anadolu Agency (AA) AA presents the photos and videos of the first troop engagement of "rookies" with the contributions of Turkish General Staff for the first time. AA started off a project which presents the humanitarian sides of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) beside its warrior spirit. Turkish General Staff opened the doors of 28 different locations for AA's project "Military Hearth-World of Turkish soldiers" in order to carry on with the photo and video shoots. 60-member AA team including of 26 photo journalists, 15 camera operators and 19 correspondents performed 35,000 frames of photos and hours long video shoots for two months. In the scope of reflect the life of a soldier in a brand new concept, AA team became guests of Turkish troops at their bases in Diyarbakir, Balikesir, Isparta, Antalya, Kayseri, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and many other places. Journalists who were keeping the tracks of soldiers, time to time, jumped on military's transport aircraft with paratroopers, entered shelters buried under snow and sometimes, accompanied marines with frigates. AA teams observed and took records of the newcomers' joining period from heading to their units, their farewell to civilian clothing, facing night watch and reuniting with their families. Their training sessions, hospitality, duties, all were covered by AA. In the scope of the 98th anniversary celebration of Canakkale Naval Victory, the project will be exhibited for the first time at the Canakkale Victory Information Centre on March 18. Exhibition composed of 160 photos will be open for a week. Furthermore, most striking photos of the project will be collected in a 260-page photo album. On March 18, the album will go on sale at selected bookstores and the internet. Income from the sales of the album will be donated to Foundation of Turkish Armed Forces Personnel.
