A Saudi contemporary art exhibition will run for the next two weeks at the Kuwaiti Arts Association in Hawally, Kuwait City. The event opened on Monday. Vice President of the Saudi Association for Fine Arts, Saleh Khattab, said that the main goal of this exhibition, aside from exchanging experiences among the artists, was to strengthen ties between the people of the Gulf by letting Kuwaitis experience the skills of Saudis in fine arts. Chairman of the Kuwaiti Arts Association, Abdulrasol Salman, expressed joy for hosting the exhibition and said it was in recognition of what the Kingdom has achieved in fine arts. The exhibition coincides with celebrating the 45th anniversary of the association’s founding. He said it would give the people and artists of Kuwait the opportunity to get to know contemporary Saudi art and its rich experience and contribute to the dialogue between them and the 42 contributing Saudi artists. Minister of Information and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah was astonished by the high artistic level, as he described it, during the exhibition. “I consider this exhibition a pleasant surprise when I see this level of creativity, especially from the female Saudi artists.” said Al-Mubarak.
