The fourth Bahrain Summer celebration will begin on June 14 and continue till July 15 at various venues, said the Ministry of Culture, who are the organisers of the event. Nakhool the mascot of Bahrain Summer returns in a bid to engage the audiences and visitors with many surprises, said the ministry. The theme for 2012 is Manama, the city of joy. The opening is supposed to be with the Russian masterpiece Slava’s snowshow, a theatre performance created and staged by Russian clown Slava Polunin on June 14 at the BIECC. The creator of this show is known today as the best clown in the world and the show is billed a theatre classic of the 20th century. The ministry said that children and a discerning audience would be thrilled to watch this play. The show timing is 7.00 pm. Nakhool City, an edutainment programme will be held at the BIECC on June 15 and continue into July 15 every day from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm. On June 21 and 22, Los Vivancos, the Flamenco dance troupe will perform at 8.30 pm. Aeternum will feature a variety of music and dance. On June 26 and 29, Karromato brings Wooden circus. The show will begin at 5.00 pm. The Czech performance is a combination of acrobatics, clowns and exotic animals. The show is expected to bring together a three-ring circus of imagination, It is expected to dazzle with special effects. On June 30, Turkish musician Omar Faruk will perform live. On July 3, Saudi rapper Qusai aka Don Legend will perform from 8.30 pm. Bahrain’s Hala Al Turk will perform at 7.00 pm on July 6, Her show is expected to feature My lovely daughter and Sleep. The Sound of Music, a recreation of the original musical that centred around the Austrian von Trapp family. There will also be workshops designed for children from 2pm until 7.00 pm every day.
