The organisers of the 6th edition of the Panorama of the European Film have announced that the Panorama's closing ceremony will take place in Plaza Cinema located inside the Americana Plaza Mall in Sheikh Zayed. The ceremony will begin at 6.30pm with a screening of Villa 69, directed by Ayten Amin. Starring Lebleba, Arwa Gouda, Khaled Abol Naga, Villa 69 is a drama that portrays Hussein, a protagonist who enjoys a solitary existence until his past catches up with him when his sister and nephew move into his house. This long-anticipated drama about life, intimacy and death sparkles with a light-hearted touch. The drama debuted at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival this year, where it won the Special Jury Award in the Arab World category. After the screening, Ghalia Ben Ali will take the stage at 9pm. Admission to the concert is free. This is not the first visit of the Tunisian singer to Egypt. She is known for fusing elements of Arabic classical music with jazz and Indian melodies. She is widely praised by Arabic-speaking listeners for her covers of Om Kalthoum songs. Her latest projects include "Romeo & Leila: A ReOriental Fairytale," and "Ghalia sings Om Kalthoum." Her albums include Wild Harissa (2001) Romeo & Leila (2006) and Al-Palna (2008). At 9.30pm, a screening of the French film Jeune & Jolie (Young and Beautiful) will close the Panorama. The film was nominated for a Palme D’Or at the Cannes International Film Festival this year. It received the TVE Otra Mirada Award at the 2013 San Sebastian International Film Festival. Jeune & Jolie presents a portrait of a French girl told over four stages: her sexual awakening, her first sexual experience, her exploration of love, and her search for identity. Source: Ahram Online
