Author G. Raye Jones is a firm believer in Jesus Christ, calling him his “true friend.” He uses this as a motivator in his daily life as pastor and for doing mission work in Kenya, Africa, as he says “everyone needs a ‘true friend.’” He aims to instill this mentality and faith in others through his new poetry collection, “One for the Heart: A Collection of Poems” (published by CrossBooks). Jones focuses primarily on his devotion and love for Jesus Christ, with many of his poems describing the trials and tribulations his faith has gotten him through. He also applies the strength and courage his faith has given him to the non-spiritual aspects of life however, stating, “It’s important to be a ‘true friend,’ a person who is with you through the good times, the bad times and the doubtful times.” He pairs this concept with numerous events, such as his missionary work in Kenya, using Jesus as a role model and source of faith. This allows his poetry to not only help readers in a spiritual manner, but help them maintain healthy relationships with those around them. An excerpt from “One for the Heart”: “You are one for the heart To give the right spoken word To open the door to a smile To love and talk of the Lord” Source: PRWEB
