The panel will meet and assess the candidates in order to select a group of applicants who will compete of the Arab World’s most famous and important poetry competition. Millions of Nabati poetry lovers look forward to the start of the fifth session 2011 – 2012 following the great success achieved in the first four seasons since 2006. Sultan Al Amimi, Director of the Poetry Academy, said that the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi would be the first stop for the panel, which includes Dr. Ghassan Al Hassan, Sultan Al Amimi and Hamad Al-Saeed. The screening of candidates will take place at Al Raha Beach Theatre on September 26th, for two days. The second stop will be the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The panel will receive candidates from October 3th – 7th at Radisson Blu Hotel. The third stop will be in Amman at Landmark Amman Hotel on October 13th – 15th while Kuwait City’s Missoni Hotel will be the fourth stop on October 24th-25th. The panel concludes its tour in Abu Dhabi from October 31st to November 1st. The last stop is expected to witness a huge influx of poets from the UAE and the Arab Gulf region in addition to poets from various Arab countries. The panel gives a final chance to the poets who could not make it to meet them in the previous stops. Amimi stressed that poets who applied to participate in the contest by e-mail and fax would be given priority to meet the panel. “Million’s Poet” is produced by ADACH. The total prize money for the competition is AED 15 million. The winner will get the title and a prize of AED 5 million, runner-up will be awarded AED 4 million, and third place will get AED 3 million, fourth place AED 2 million and fifth place AED 1 million. The competition will be aired on both Abu Dhabi and “Million’s Poet” satellite TV channels.
