In a sculpture exhibit Kamal El-Fiky delves into a macabre world, with the notion that everyone is a peg in a wheel, part of an endless cycle that dates back to our ancestors.
“Every single cog in this money-making hierarchy, according to their role, rank, and ability, has a part to play,” the exhibition statement reads.
El-Fiky graduated from Helwan Fine Arts University and has won several prizes including the short residency prize at the Egyptian Academy in Rome, Salon of Youth 2012, the Dedication award from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture 2011, 2012, and the Cairo Salon Prize 2013.
