The Vietnam International Garment and Textile Exhibition 2014 (VGT 2014) kicked off here on Wednesday, attracting domestic and foreign exhibitors from 10 countries and regions, organizers announced.
During the four-day event, which will run through Saturday, the latest machinery, equipment and technologies will be displayed by exhibitors, including those from Chinese mainland, China's Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China's Taiwan, Turkey, the United States and Vietnam, with world-renowned companies such as ARTREND, Da Kong, EKSOY, TAJIMA, WELLTEX, among others.
In addition, Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry TAMI sets up their own special pavilion with 12 top companies showcasing the leading machineries and cutting-edge technologies to the Vietnamese market.
Sideline events include seminars held by the Association of Garments, Textiles, Embroidery and Knitting (AGTEK), one on " Building up Capable Sourcing for Vietnam Textile Companies when TPP Goes to Implementation"and another on "Productivity and Flexibility-Vital Solution for Vietnam Garment Sector in Global Competition".
VTG 2014, the 14th edition of this kind ever held in the country, is expected to be an exclusive business platform for domestic and international quality suppliers of textiles and garments industries, said organizers.
According to the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, Vietnam expected to earn from garment and textile exports more than 24 billion U.S. dollars in 2014 and 25 billion dollars by 2020.
In the first 10 months of this year, the country pocketed 17.6 billion dollars, up 19.3 percent year on year, reported the General Statistics Office.
