El-Geneina Theatre's summer programme starts Thursday, bringing Egyptian, Sudanese, Dutch and American musicians to its Al-Azhar Park stage. El-Geneina Theatre launches its summer programme after the end of the Spring Festival on Thursday 17 May, bringing established independent musicians to Al-Azhar Park. The programme starts Thursday with a performance by Sharqi Blues from the Netherlands along with El-Door El-Awwal band who each, in their own style, present a fusion of jazz and oriental sounds. On the following day, Friday, 18 May, Otaak band (US/Sudan) bring to the stage a mix of Beja blues and Afrobeat music from their recently released album "Bejawiya." On 19, 25, 25 May respectively, Nagham Masry, Soot Fel Zahma and Salalem band are to take to the stage performing contemporary Egyptian music, inspired by Egyptian culture with an alternative sound.
