Workshops and events promoting heritage are being organised by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. The Heritage and Touristic Season will begin in October and run until April next year. The programme is part of an initiative announced yesterday by Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid, the authority's chairman. "Our city is home to some of the region's most magnificent heritage sites, which have paved the path for our growth over the last years,” Sheikh Majid said. "We are committed to fostering a genuine understanding of the city's heritage and its traditions by providing visitors with the opportunity to live our heritage and that is what the Dubai Heritage and Touristic Season will accomplish.” Dubai Culture will collaborate with other government bodies, enterprises and academic institutions to promote the campaign.
