The first ever China Festival kicked off in Stockholm on Friday, attracting hundreds of locals and tourists despite the heat. Visitors will be treated several aspects of Chinese culture, right from food, Kung Fu, to traditional instruments, embroidery, tea art and calligraphy. Organized by the Chinese Association of Sweden in association with the Chinese embassy, the three-day event will see 30 shows performed by around 180 performers across China and the world. "The China Festival fully reflects the pioneering spirit of overseas Chinese in Sweden and the harmonious atmosphere of solidarity and cooperation among them," said Lan Lijun, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden. He added that the festival had strengthened the friendship between Swedish and Chinese people as it had offered a good opportunity to get to know China
