Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan's drama, Winter Sleep, has won the Cannes Film Festival's top prize -- the Palme d'Or, organizers announced during the weekend. The Grand Prix runner-up title went to The Wonders, directed by Italy's Alice Rohrwacher, while Hollywood's Bennett Miller scored the Best Director award for helming Foxcatcher. American film star Julianne Moore earned the accolade for Best Actress for her performance in Canadian director David Cronenberg's Maps to the Stars and British thespian Timothy Spall won the Best Actor trophy for his work in U.K. director Mike Leigh's Mr. Turner.
