The 58th edition of Damascus International Fair is to be launched Wednesday under the title “Love Greeting to Syria” with the participation of 22 Arab and foreign countries. Director-General of the General Establishment for International Expos and Markets, Mohammad Hammoud, told SANA that the fair, from 13 to 22 of July, will include several activities such as the car show ‘Auto Bazaar’ and a car auction. He pointed out that the Establishment provided facilities and incentives to the exhibitors, deducting 30% for renting areas in the Fair and exempting all the large and medium sized companies which are nominated by the General Authority for Employment from all the wages. Hammoud underlined the Establishment’s keenness to hold 2011′s edition, pointing out that the Fair has been launched for 57 years with no discontinuity. He attributed the dropping of participation to the current situation in the region. Damascus International Fair is the oldest in the region. It keeps on holding its sessions for 57 in a raw, being an economic, social, cultural and artistic event in addition to being a common ground for economic and trade interaction of the local and foreign companies around the world. Algeria, Sudan, Palestine, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia Democratic Korea, and other countries participate in the Fair in addition to companies from Ukraine, Sweden, Czech and Russia. R. Milhem
