An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale rocked Aceh province before dawn on Wednesday, Indonesia''s News Agency (Antara) reported. The epicenter of the quake which struck was in the sea 325 km southwest of Simeulue district, Aceh province, or 1,785 km northwest of Jakarta at a depth of 59 km, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said. The quake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami, it said. An 8.9 magnitude undersea quake that unleashed a devastating tsunami shook part of Aceh on December 26, 2004, leaving more than 200 thousand people dead. (QNA) RMA/LY
