Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy and Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish attended a celebration marking the World Environment Day at the authority HQ on Monday.
The development project of the Suez Canal is a national dream come true with hard work, will and knowledge, the minister has said.
Fahmy shed light on a cooperation protocol signed by the ministry and the executive council of the project last year that aims to integrate the environmental aspect into all of the project’s planned activities through strategic environmental impact assessment studies.
The protocol covers all environmental terms and conditions in the consequent projects related to urban and industrial communities and tunnels, he said.
