Media adviser to the agriculture minister Helmy Abdel Dayem said the world public opinion is preoccupied with the climate change effects which affect all countries including Egypt .
The climate change is caused by developed countries which must have a role in helping developing nations overcome dire consequences, Abdel Dayem told MENA on Sunday.
Abdel Dayem said - on the sidelines of celebrations marking the World Food Day - that the ministry and the Agricultural Research Center act on crops which resist climate changes including rice.
The central laboratory of the center is responsible for raising the awareness of farmers regarding climate changes which may happen in the future, the adviser said.
An environmental bulletin is issued daily to let farmers know more about climate changes , he added.
The World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on October 16 in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945.
The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with food security, including the World Food Program and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
