Security bodies managed to control a gas leak from the main pipeline in El Hegaz street in Heliopolis on Thursday.
Civil protection forces managed to repair the main control valve of the underground pipeline.
The powerful sound of high-pressure natural gas leaking caused panic among the residents of the area.
The civil protection department has deployed eight fire engines at the site of the gas leak.
Natural gas workers and engineers managed to fix the safety shut-off valve and install a new one within 6 hours.
