Three earthquakes occurred on the Pacific coast of Russia over the past 24 hours. One of them with a magnitude of 4.3 was registered in the Pacific Ocean on the beam of the Kurile island of Inturup overnight to Saturday. Its epicentre was situated about 100 kilometres to the east of the city of Kurilsk, Itar-Tass quoted the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences as reporting. On Friday evening, an earthquake measuring 4.9 was also recorded in the Pacific Ocean near the desert island of Urup. On the same evening, a jolt with a magnitude of 4.2 was registered in the Sea of Okhotsk 250 kilometres to the south-east of the city of Poronaisk on the eastern coast of Sakhalin and 300 kilometres to the north-east of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The epicenters of the Kurile earthquakes were bedded at depths from 55 to 60 kilometres, the epicentre in the Sea of Okhotsk was bedded at a depth of 480 kilometres. According to Far Eastern seismologists' data, jolts were not felt in Sakhalin and Kurile settlements. There is no threat of tsunami.
