A special national solidarity action plan for High Plateaux and southern provinces will be launched by the end of the year, announced Sunday in Tebessa (600-km east of Algiers) Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs, Mounia Meslem.
In a statement to the press at the end of a meeting with the civil society organizations of the eastern provinces, the minister underlined that the action plan, which will be "presented to the Government very shortly, will meet the concerns expressed by the associations and the civil society of many provinces, particularly the associations devoted to helping orphans, persons with motor disability and deaf-mute persons.
The plan will boost the solidarity actions as well as the fight against poverty and exclusion carried out by the Ministry of National Solidarity, said Meslem, adding that the State is preparing with the collaboration of specialists and players of the civil society the launch of a survey to assess the incidence of autism and mental deficiency.
In this regard, he urged the education directorates if the 48 provinces of the country to ensure the strict implementation of the law, which provides for the integration of these two categories (autistics and persons with mentally disabilities) in schools.
"The State will spare no effort to ensure protection and best possible care to all its children, particularly the most vulnerable categories," said Meslem.
