An explosion targeting a security vehicle on Saturday in Egypt's North Sinai province killed one police officer and one soldier and wounded another soldier, an official security source said.
The bomb was detonated remotely when the specialized vehicle, which is used to intercept signals of explosive devices, passed by during a routine security operation in the city of Al-Arish, the source told Xinhua.
Another soldier was seriously wounded and transferred to Al-Arish military hospital, the source added.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
A local Sinai-based affiliate of the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for most of the militant attacks that took place in Egypt after the army-led ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Hundreds of police and army men were killed in the anti-security attacks across the country by Islamist militants.
