A man was killed and three others were injured Friday when an explosive device detonated in Cairo's Maadi, Egypt's Ministry of Interior announced.
According to a brief statement issued by the ministry shortly after the explosion, the device was found by 35-year-old doorman Hamda Abdel-Zaher in the garden of the building where he worked on Al-Jazeir street, Maadi.
As Abdel-Zaher inspected the device it detonated, immediately killing him and injuring his wife and two children.
The injured were transferred to hospital to receive treatment.
