Mar Gerges Church explosion is a cowardly and treacherous act, said Head of the Evangelical community in Egypt Rev. Andre Zaki, adding that terrorizing worshipers contradicts religious and humanitarian values.
Terrorists are trying to strike Egypt, but we are sticking to the unity of our nation and nothing will prevent us from standing by our country, rev. Zaki said in statements to MENA.
The evangelical community in Tanta opened the door of its private hospital "American Hospital" to all the injured, some of whom are still in critical condition, rev. Zaki added.
We are praying for the victims and will firmly confront plotters who aim at destabilizing the country, rev. Zaki noted.
He added that such attacks will not prevent evangelicals from performing prayers and safeguarding their homeland.
