At least 12 people were killed and 15 others injured when their bus plunged into a canal in Giza near Cairo on Saturday.
The victims were workers from a private construction company, official sources were quoted by Egypt's official news agency (MENA) as saying.
The accident occurred after several vehicles crashed on the road, leading the bus to plunge into the canal.
It was not immediately known how many passengers were inside the bus, according to medics, adding that all injured passengers were shifted to nearby hospitals.
Fatal road accidents are relatively common in Egypt and have often been blamed on poor driving and bad roads.
Over 15,000 people die and 50,000 others are injured in road accidents in Egypt every year, according to recent WHO statistics.
